The role

What a DSP does every day.

No two days look the same. Your work follows each person’s Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP), their goals, and the way they want to live.

Daily living

Support with meals, personal care, household tasks, and mobility, always with dignity and respect.

Community life

Go out into the community together for errands, activities, work, faith, and friendships.

Skill building

Help people learn and keep skills like cooking, budgeting, routines, and getting around town.

Health and safety

Follow health supports in the PCSP and help with medications only as trained and authorized.

Documentation

Record each visit accurately and on time so the whole team knows how the person is doing.

Speaking up

Notice changes in health, behavior, or routines, protect each person’s rights, and report concerns.

Is this for you?

You'll do well here if you…

Are patient and dependable

People count on you to show up and follow through.

Respect people's choices

You support the person to lead their own life, not the other way around.

Like being active and out in the community

Much of the work happens in town, not behind a desk.

Communicate clearly

You share what you notice with your Professional Manager and write accurate notes.
